Juris Doctor (JD) Program
What is the JD Degree?
LSL offers a first degree in law--the Juris Doctor (JD) Degree. Our JD program is a professional course of study that prepares students to practice law in Liberia and other common law countries, such as the United States, subject to meeting certain eligibility requirements.
Requirements for Students Seeking the JD Degree
Students seeking the JD at LSL must have first completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline and must also pass a rigorous admission test. Once enrolled, students must complete 90 credit hours of coursework in not less than three years and not more than five years to obtain the JD Degree.
National Bar Preparation
Upon their graduation, LSL will offer students a course of study to prepare them to sit the Liberian National Bar Exam.
U.S. Bar Preparation
Upon their graduation, LSL will offer students a course of study to prepare them to sit the bar exams in certain U.S. jurisdictions, including the State of New York.
